Wear the beauty of Vincent van Gogh's masterpieces wherever you go.
Created by world-renowned botanical jewelry artist Michael Michaud, this unique necklace captures the beauty of Vincent van Gogh's Sunflowers in exquisite detail. Like van Gogh, Michaud works from nature, hand-casting actual plants to capture their natural detail and textures. Cast in bronze with flowers of yellow enamel and gold leaf, this stunning pendant is accented with ambers and peridots. A 24" snake chain with 2" extender is included.
Among his most famous paintings, Sunflowers have become synonymous with the artist Vincent van Gogh (Dutch, 1853-1890). Van Gogh completed the majority of this series of paintings between 1888 and 1889 in the South of France. For van Gogh, sunflowers signified gratitude. The first sunflowers he painted were in anticipation of Paul Gauguin's arrival to the yellow house they would share in Arles. Van Gogh considered sunflowers his signature flower, writing to his brother Theo in 1889 that "the sunflower is mine."
