Salvador Dalí

Salvador Dalí (Spanish, 1904–1989) is one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, best known for his highly technical painting combined with bizarre dream imagery, often relating to Freudian psychology.  Also famous for his trademark mustache and eccentric personality, Dalí  has become an icon of the art world.

Works by Salvador Dalí in the permanent collection of the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields include Judgement of Paris (1963), The Elephants (Design for the Opera La Dama Spagnola e il Cavaliere Romano) (1961), Gala's Bouquet (1980), and The Vanishing Face (1980).
