Adam Ames (*1969 in New York, New York) and Andrew Bordwin (*1964 in Framingham, Massachusetts), known together as Type A, have worked collaboratively developing conceptual art projects in diverse media, including performance, video, photography, drawing, and sculpture. The artists derive their content from the complex social, cultural, and psychological interrelationships between men, particularly regarding the issues of competition, challenge, boundaries, and play. More recent work by Type A investigates the relationship between the individual and the community. Published in 2010, this catalogue of photographs and drawings with essays by Lisa D. Freiman and Richard Klein and an interview by Ian Berry with the artists provides a retrospective of their work.
