About the Artist:
Domica Hill is a contemporary Indigenous Australian artist and proud Palawa woman with ancestral ties to the northwest coast of Tasmania. Originally a secondary school teacher, Domica turned to painting as a way to process grief after the loss of her first child, Briar. Her work blends vibrant, contemporary aesthetics with traditional Palawa symbolism, drawing on personal experiences, ancestral stories, and the deep spiritual connection her people share with the land. Through her art, Domica creates space for healing, cultural expression, and education—using visual storytelling to share moments of joy, loss, resilience, and connection to Country.
