Utamaro 'Geisha at Night' Bookmark
Utamaro 'Geisha at Night' Bookmark is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
This bookmark was inspired by one of the beauties in Kitagawa Utamaro's triptych of courtesans and children strolling along a riverbank in the historic city of Edo modern-day Tokyo. Japanese prints depicting actors and courtesans and the world they inhabited are referred to as Ukiyo-E, or the art of the floating world. Widely sought after by collectors since the mid-19th Century, Ukiyo-E is perhaps the most popular and best-known of Japanese art forms in the western world.
