Varcoe Ngurunderi Socks

$ 10.00

These cotton socks feature a design by Cedric Varcoe, inspired by the Ngarrindjeri Dreaming of Ngurunderi. The story tells of Ngurunderi’s journey along the Murray River, where he followed Pondi, the great Murray Cod, who shaped the river’s twists and turns with his tail. As Ngurunderi searched for his two runaway wives, he created the rain that nourishes the land, represented by the rainbow in the artwork. The story highlights Ngurunderi’s role in creating the river system, the Ngarrindjeri people, and the landforms around them. As Ngurunderi’s journey unfolds, his legacy lives on in the landscape, and these socks offer not just comfort, but a connection to this powerful Dreaming story, perfect for daily wear with cultural significance.

One size fits most adults.
